Mrs. Savita Nagananda participated in the Science Exhibition (Teaching Aid) conducted at the Ward Level on November 27 and 28 at Sitaram Prakash High School, Wadala and subsequently at the Mumbai District Level on December 15 and 16 at BJPC High School, Charni Road with her innovative project titled “The Magic of Buoyant Force”. The teaching aid was developed with the objective of making scientific concepts experiential, engaging and easily understandable for students. The project focused on the applications of Archimedes’ Principle and the concept of buoyant force. Mrs. Savita Nagananda designed and presented working models and prototypes that demonstrated real-life applications such as Submarines, determining the weight of an elephant, ships floating in marine water etc. The models were interactive in nature and aimed at arousing curiosity, creativity, and scientific thinking among students through hands-on learning.
At the Ward Level Science Exhibition, the project was well received and appreciated by the judges for its originality, clarity of explanation, and effective demonstration of scientific principles. In recognition of its merit, the project was awarded 3rd Prize. The same project was then selected to represent the ward at the Mumbai District Level Science Exhibition, where it earned 2nd Prize, bringing laurels to the school. This achievement highlights Mrs. Savita Nagananda’s commitment to innovative teaching methodologies and her efforts to promote activity-based and experiential learning in science education. Her contribution has enhanced the academic reputation of the school and serves as an inspiration for both students and fellow educators.
