NKES Premier League Box Cricket Tournament Concludes Successfully

NKES Junior College of Arts, Commerce & Science, Wadala (West), Mumbai, successfully organized the NKES Premier League Box Cricket Tournament at Indulal D. Bhuva Ground on 3rd and 5th January 2026. The two-day tournament was conducted with great enthusiasm and showcased exceptional sportsmanship among students and teachers.
A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament, namely NKES Yoddhas, NKES Bulls, NKES Steelers, NKES Pirates, NKES Dabang, NKES Titans, NKES Warriors, NKES Thalaiva, NKES Giants and NKES Paltan. Each team was owned by a teacher of the college and comprised 8 main players and 2 substitute players.
A special player auction was organized for selecting students from Std. XI and XII of Arts, Commerce and Science streams, which became a major highlight of the event.
The final match was played between Team Yoddha, owned by Prof. Sanjay Pandav, and Team Bulls, owned by Prof. Pramod Jadhav. After an exciting and closely contested match, Team Bulls emerged as the champions of the tournament.
Outstanding individual performances were recognized with special awards.
Best All-Rounder Award was presented to Prince Rawat.
Best Player of the Tournament (Male) was awarded to Harsh Kamble, who received a trophy along with a cash prize.
Best Player of the Tournament (Female) was awarded to Srushti Kadam, who was also honored with a trophy and cash prize.
At the valedictory function, volunteers were felicitated with certificates for their dedicated service, while the winner and runner-up teams were awarded trophies and certificates.
The tournament was efficiently organized by the college volunteers under the leadership of Prof. Puneet Doshi from the Commerce Department. The entire event was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Rathish Kukian, Event Coordinator, and Mrs. Nitina Shukla, Principal, NKES Junior College.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Mr. Parthasarathi Naik, President of NKES, and Ms. Bhavani Bhargava, Treasurer, NKES. In his address, Mr. Parthasarathi Naik expressed his desire to see players from NKES represent prestigious tournaments like the IPL in the future.
The event was further honored by the presence of Mr. Dadasaheb Gutukade, Senior Police Inspector of Matunga Police Station, as the Chief Guest, who appreciated such sports initiatives for fostering discipline, teamwork and positive energy among youth.
The tournament received valuable support from sponsors Yellow Nets, Samadhan Bavkar, Tassawur Khan, and social worker Mr. Anil Kadam. The organizers expressed sincere gratitude for their contribution.
The valedictory ceremony was gracefully anchored by Prof. Sanjay Pandav along with Prof. Luvita Bangera and Prof. Sangeeta Singh, adding charm and professionalism to the event.
The tournament concluded successfully with the collective efforts of all teachers, volunteers and students of NKES Junior College, promoting sportsmanship, leadership and holistic development among students.
